Questions With Coach Henderson

Coach Henderson’s coaching philosophy is simple. Make it about baseball and not about money. We hear all the time how this team charges X amount and this coach is taking in X amount. We are lucky to have sponsors and fund raisers throughout the year that cover our costs. If during your players try out period the team is holding a Fund Raiser you will be asked to help. Remember there are NO out of pocket expenses.
No. We practice like we play. We ask all players come ready to practice and dressed appropriately.
Coach Henderson is a Southern California native and grew up playing baseball in the West Covina and South Hills areas of Los Angeles. He had the fortunate opportunity to grow up and play with the players such as Jeremy and Jason Giambi, Kevin and Cory Lidle, Mikey Young , Mike Sweeney, Chris Woodward and many other great Southern California baseball players. He personally played baseball up until College and is very fond of the sport and what it does for our youth today.

The Temecula Halos travel in the vicinities of Riverside County, Orange County, and San Diego County. Rarely will we leave these areas. The majority of our tournaments are held the Inland Empire and San Diego county.
Our tryout process is fairly simple. We hold “open” TRY-OUTS. Your player would commit to 2-4 weeks of practice with the current team. They usually will not be judged on their skill set on the first day. We like to evaluate a player over a period of time to see how each player progresses. Your players progression is what we are looking for. With our style of practices and drills we should see improvement within the first week. If your player progresses at a slower pace then they may want to stay for a longer period of time.
